Cape to Cairo Walk Reaches Zambia: Team Heads Toward Lusaka Now!
The inspiring Cape to Cairo Walk continues to attract attention across Africa as three determined individuals make their way through Zambia toward Lusaka on their long journey north to Cairo.
Although they are walking together along the same route, each participant is undertaking the journey for a different personal mission.
Eddie Bond, an explorer from the United States, is walking across the African continent for personal exploration and adventure. His goal is to experience Africa’s diverse cultures, landscapes, and communities while documenting what it means to cross such a vast continent on foot.
Walking alongside him is Jimmy Walker, who is using the journey to raise awareness about Gender-Based Violence. Through his walk, Walker hopes to encourage dialogue in communities about the importance of protecting women and vulnerable groups and building safer societies across Africa.
Also part of the journey is Rhino Man, an environmental advocate walking to promote nature preservation and wildlife conservation. His mission focuses on protecting Africa’s wildlife and encouraging communities to take an active role in safeguarding the continent’s natural environment.
As the walkers approach Lusaka, they continue to meet and interact with communities along the route. Their presence has already inspired environmental discussions and community activities promoting cleanliness, conservation, and social awareness.
While their motivations differ—exploration, social justice, and conservation—the three walkers share a powerful commitment to engaging with people across Africa and spreading messages that can inspire positive change.

Swenka Mzala Radio will continue to follow their progress as they move closer to Lusaka on this extraordinary journey across the African continent.
The Cape to Cairo walk remains a powerful example of determination, purpose, and the ability of individuals to bring important conversations to communities along Africa’s roads.
